Most of the lesson’s I give the students want to increase their distance. I completely understand that need. Here is a drill that will increase your overall distance off the tee.

1. Take your normal stance.
2. Pick up the toe of your right foot.
3. Without moving your heel, pivot your right toe to the right parallel to the target line.
4. Position the ball behind the golf ball. Slide the club back one foot directly behind the ball.
5. Begin your swing from this position. Make sure to complete your backswing and follow through completely.
Practice this drill on the range for a week or so and you will be amazed at how much your swing speed will increase. Remember that you should do 5 of the drill and then 5 normal swings.
